Philippines Trip | Allyn & Beng

This October, Allyn and Beng proceeded to take a bittersweet short visit to Manila after Tita Reby’s death on September 17. The company and hugs and kisses from cousins, aunties and uncles in San Pablo, Villa Escudero, Novaliches and Pasig made it so heartwarming.

As Allyn opened her many birthday presents at a party in Aunty Nene’s house. Beng announced, ‘I will celebrate my birthday here next year!’
What a treat – Aunty Nene’s reknown Morcon then there was kare-kare, lengua, pancit palabok, another pancit, many desserts and 5 cakes. The caramel cake was so yummy and so was the Yema cake and the Mango cake and the Sans Rival and we had lanzones … everything was great!

Allyn was so touched by the lavender balloons and many were dressed in purple including cute Bianca, Pinky’s youngest daughter. How wonderful to see Manang Tinay, too!

What a vacation - foot spa/foot massage with manicure and pedicure, hot oil and a needed hair trim/style at Embeng’s favorite beauty salon, bodyscrub, massage, facial, manicure(again), a fabulous japanese lunch and chinese dinner (with peking duck – ‘two-way’ and eel) in the Tagaytay Highlands hosted by Obet and Embeng, a suite at the Manila Peninsula, the buffets there and halo-halo, churros and hot chocolate at Dulcinea, shopping in MegaMall, Glorietta, Landmark, Market/Market, and the Tiangge in Greenhills. How many purple shoes can Allyn buy! Of course, Beng enjoyed shopping, too.

Well, cousins here abroad, do you miss Manila? Sige, punta na – you should taste the caramel cake and maybe, Aunty Nene will cook Morcon for you – worth the trip!
